The island is very close to Kos, and it’s only a 5-hour ferry ride from Kos. It’s also close to Rhodes, so you should be able to travel between the islands in the same amount of time.
The ferry from Kos to Kalymnos is usually lengthy because it takes quite a bit of time for the boat to reach its destination.

You’ll want to be sure that you’re staying in Vliopouli since it’s the most popular area for tourists! The main city of Kastro is where most tourists go, but it can get very crowded during the summer months.
