Washington Football owner Dan Snyder has had a long and successful career in media, communications, and marketing. From Marketing to Franchise Ownership

In 1985, he launched the Snyder Communications Inc., a marketing and advertising firm. The company quickly grew to become a global organization with 12,000 employees, 17 offices, and $1 billion in yearly revenue. When Snyder sold the business to the French firm Havas in 2000 for $2.3 billion, it was the largest ever merger in the marketing industry.

Snyder purchased the Washington Football team in 1999. As he had grown up in the D.C. area and attended football games throughout his youth, he was always passionate about the sport. During his tenure as the team's owner, 27 players have earned 53 Pro Bowl appearances, 13 have been selected for the All-Rookie Team, and five have been inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Washington Football's stadium, FedExField, has also undergone major renovations. Dan Snyder is committed to improving the fan experience, so he has launched several projects to update and upgrade the facility. How the Charitable Foundation Makes a Difference

The Washington Charitable Foundation's mission is to improve education, health and wellness, and community outreach in the greater D.C. area. In the 20 years since its creation, it has given over $29 million to people in need throughout the community.

The foundation is involved in a wide variety of charitable endeavors. Its members host events for students and families that promote important initiatives like literacy and healthy living. The Washington Charitable Foundation is active with the Loads of Love program as well, which provides laundry facilities for schools so that all children can have access to clean clothing.

Dan Snyder's Personal Philanthropy

After Hurricane Matthew hit the Caribbean in 2016, Daniel Snyder funded a delivery of emergency supplies to those in the region who were affected. He also provided aid after Hurricane Katrina and after the tsunami that devastated Thailand and Indonesia in 2004.

Snyder actively supports both the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and the Children's National Hospital. His funding allowed the hospital to build the Snyder Family Emergency Medicine and Trauma Center, which has provided essential medical services to countless children and families.

As a D.C. native, Snyder is passionate about supporting and strengthening the greater D.C. community. After the historic Ashburn Colored School was vandalized in 2016, the Washington Football Team donated $35,000 to assist with its restoration. For years, he has supported Beacon House, a foundation that assists at-risk youth in the Edgewood Terrace neighborhood. Snyder also donates to Youth for Tomorrow, a Virginia organization that provides care for homeless and at-risk children and teens.

Dan Snyder continues to be involved in the private sector as an investor and a marketing and communications advisor. He is the founder of Red Zebra Broadcasting, a company that owns and operates radio stations in D.C., Maryland, and Virginia.
